CINVESTAV is a decentralized public service organization devoted to awareness, education and the development of scientific research in Mexico. The institute currently has 33 departments, separated by area, as well as 10 research centers. Three of these are in D.F., while the remaining seven are spread out across the rest of the country in the following cities: Guadalajara, Mérida, Querétaro, Irapuato, Saltillo, Monterrey and Ciudad Victoria.

Cinvestav constructed a new research laboratory area and needed to back up its communications systems, computers and electronic equipment. The company was originally considering 30 kVA equipment, but after reviewing the electrical system plans together, a decision was made to install one 60 kVA unit on each floor.
In the new research laboratory area (the equipment has not yet been installed, as the construction work has not been finished). This year, construction was resumed, including in the area in which the 20 kVA equipment will be installed. As the anticipated consumption has been exceeded, part of the system will be modified.
